Kiwassa, which is part of the Saranac chain of lakes, accessible by
the locks to Lower Saranac. We offer two separate private
accommodations - The Carriage House and
Lodge. Residents still drink the pure water
which is also home to loons, otter and blue heron. Bass and
are a frequent catch off our dock which provides excellent swimming,
reading or sunbathing. Private dock mooring for boat up to 20 feet,
and a convenient public boat
launch nearby. Canoe available for our guests.
We are nestled in the midst of the high peaks range for short or
challenging hiking. Winter season tempts you with ice fishing and
cross country skiing on the frozen Lake Kiwassa or one of the
many area ski trails through the forest. Whiteface, Big
Tupper, and Titus Mountain are nearby downhill ski resorts.
Saranac Lake's Winter Carnival (every February) is the oldest
continuing winter carnival in the nation. Each year, the Ice Palace
is constructed from 13 " ice blocks carved from Lake Flower.

We are 15 minutes from Lake Clear Airport - flights by Cape
Air. There are direct flights
from Boston, Albany and Burlington. By car, we are 2 1/2 hours from
Albany, Burlington and Montreal. The Olympic Village of Lake
Placid is a 7 mile drive - with downhill skiing at Whiteface
Mountain or cross country trails.
